Police name man shot dead in Belfast

Police in Belfast have named the man shot dead in the east of the city last night. He was 41-year-old Geoffrey Thomas Grey.

A father of four, he was originally from Portadown Co Armagh but had lived for the past year on the Beersbridge Road in east Belfast.

He was confronted by an attacker at Ravenhill Avenue and hit once in the chest with a shotgun blast.

He died at the scene.
