IRA suspects refuse to leave Colombian cells

A court hearing for three Irishmen accused of training Colombia’s Marxist rebels in terror techniques was postponed today when they refused to leave their cells.

The three refused to be moved from their prison in Bogota to the court, saying they feared for their safety, said a prison spokeswoman.

The hearing was postponed until Oct. 16, said prosecutor Carlos Sanchez.

About 20 protesters carrying signs – one of which read IRA, go home and kill your own people – protested outside the nine-storey court house in the Colombian capital.
