The Mater hospital in Dublin has been asked to cancel all non-elective surgery to deal with the overflow of patients form the Beaumont hospital.

The Eastern Regional Health Authority has now made a formal request to the hospital asking them to cancel booking admissions so as to ease the pressure on the bug infected hospital, Beaumont.
