Vomiting bug still on the increase
The number of cases of the winter vomiting bug is still rising in Dublin's Beaumont hospital.
There are now reported to be 24 cases of the virus in the hospital. In addition, a further 24 people are undergoing tests.
However, it is thought that 74 people are now displaying symptoms of the bug. Ambulances are also being diverted away from the A&E unit in a bid to stop the virus spreading.
The emergency unit is still open but only for very serious cases.
Up to 16 wards in Beaumont have been affected by the outbreak.
Hospital authorities are appealing to the public to stay away from the wards and to see their GP first.
