Govt predicts construction industry job losses

The Department of the Environment has predicted further job losses in the construction industry by the end of this year.

In its annual review of the industry, the Department said the total construction workforce at the end of 2002 will be around 173,000, a fall of 6.5% on figures for the end of last year.
