Finance minister Charlie McCreevy today said he had no intention of resigning despite continued opposition calls for his removal from office for allegedly misleading the electorate.

Mr McCreevy was accused of “telling lies” after a leaked Government memo, discussed by ministers in June, revealed spending cutbacks of €900m would have to be made next year.
