Investigation begins into leaked memo

The Department of Finance has begun an investigation into a leaked document which has led to calls for Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy to resign.

The document, which shows that Mr McCreevy had called for substantial cutbacks just weeks after the general election, was brought to light in a Sunday newspaper yesterday.
