Garda stabbed in Dublin

A Garda has been stabbed during an incident in Ballymun in Dublin this morning.

Youths attacked two Gardai when they arrived at the scene of a disturbance at Sandyhill Avenue at 11 am.

One of the Gardai received stab wounds to his lower legs during the attack.

Gardai have now arrested two individuals who are being held at Ballymun Garda station under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

They can be held for up to 12 hours. The injured Garda has been treated at Beaumont hospital.
