Cox says Nice consequences are significant

The President of the European Parliament says that the 'hand of history' is knocking on Ireland's door.

Pat Cox maintains that the outcome of the Nice Treaty poll in four weeks time will have significant economic and political consequences for Ireland.

Mr Cox is also rejecting claims that ratification would be a move towards the formation of a European army.
