Naughten calls on Brennan to decentralise air traffic

Fine Gael spokesperson on Transport, Dennis Naughten, is calling on Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan to demand decentralisation of Europe's air traffic control systems.

Mr Naughten is also calling for a decentralised regulation of the aviation industry in an effort to avert to avert incidents such as the near miss off the Irish Coast last November.

Mr Naughten said 'the Minister for Transport must immediately pursue the issue at EU level, in order to avert similar near-misses or worse in the future'
