Man charged with murder

A 43-year-old man was tonight charged with the murder of a woman in east Belfast at the weekend.

The man is expected to appear at Laganside Magistrates Court in Belfast tomorrow charged with the murder of 51-year-old Nellie Cowan.

Her body was discovered last Saturday at a house in the Woodstock Road area of east Belfast.

One man has been released without charge while another man is still assisting police with their inquiries.
