M50 motorway row resolved

A resolution has been reached to the row over construction of a section of the M50 motorway though the site of Carrickmines Castle in Co Dublin.

Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan says a deal has been reached, which means up to 60% of the historical site will be preserved, and the motorway can still be completed on schedule in 2004.
