MEP claims Ireland is represented well in Europe
A leading Dublin MEP is attacking 'myths' that she says the 'no' to Nice campaign are running on.
Mary Bannotti is maintaining that the electorate must vote yes to preserve Ireland's strong position within the European union.
The Fine Gael MP is now urging Irish people not to heed the 'no' campaign's position.
Mary Bannotti says that we have 15 MEPs, which is considerably more per head of population than other large countries.
She says that an Irish MEP represents approximately 200,000 people as opposed to a German one who stands for maybe 2 million people.
