Woman dies in Co Galway car crash

A 71-year-old woman died from the injuries she sustained in a road accident in Co Galway yesterday evening.

A 61-year-old woman remains critically ill in hospital following the collision between the car they were travelling in and an articulated truck.

The accident happened near Merlin Park on the Galway to Oranmore road shortly before 5pm yesterday evening.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
