Business alliance launches ‘yes’ to Nice campaign

An alliance of business organisations has launched a campaign for a ‘yes’ vote in the upcoming re-run of the Nice Treaty referendum.

The Irish Alliance for Europe includes the Irish Farmers Association, IBEC, the Small Firms Association and the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland, among others.

The group said EU membership has benefited Ireland and claimed that a ‘no’ vote in the Nice Treaty referendum would leave Ireland on the margins of an enlarged EU.
