Orde to seek temporary retention of full-time reserve

The North’s chief constable has revealed that he plans to ask the policing board to retain the full-time police reserve on a short-term basis.

The Patten Report on policing reform recommended that the reserve be disbanded, but Hugh Orde wants it retained temporarily due to pressures facing the police service.
