Nice referendum result 'too close to call'

The outcome of the second referendum on the Treaty of Nice plan for European Union enlargement was “too close to predict” and opinion poll said tonight.

On the eve of a resumed Dail debate on legislation necessary for a vote to amend the constitution, figures indicated that a high percentage of the electorate had still to decide which way to vote.
