Gardai investigate Portuguese man's death

Gardai are investigating the suspicious death of a Portuguese man in his thirties.

The man's body was found in Waterford this morning.

The non-national was well known by locals and was considered a new aged traveller in the area.

A passer by discovered his body this morning in a field just off Whiting Bay, in Ardmore, Co Waterford.

The man had sustained serious injuries after a beating.

Gardai are now pursuing a number of directions in their investigations.
