Shortts management begin talks with unions

Talks are underway between management and trade unions at Shortts aerospace in Belfast.

The option of re-patriating sub-contracted work back into the plant, and re-designating and re-training workers for other jobs in the company is being discussed.

Shortts announced yesterday that 461 workers would be 'surplus to requirements' for 2003.
