Archaeologists have announced the discovery of a previously unknown ritual enclosure on the Hill of Tara in Co Meath.

The Discovery Programme, an independent archaeological institution, said the sub-circular enclosure, known as a ‘ditched pit circle’, was found on the top of the hill using geophysical survey equipment.
