Strong economy responsible for high numbers in employment

1.74 million people were working in Ireland in the second quarter of the year, according to new figures from the Central Statistics office.

The numbers in work are up by 33,000 in the past year. 47,500 persons immigrated into Ireland during the past year of which 38% were returning Irish.
