The North’s assistant chief constable for Belfast has said that loyalist paramilitaries are responsible for orchestrating the majority of the street violence around the city’s interface areas in recent months.

The North’s assistant chief constable for Belfast has said that loyalist paramilitaries are responsible for orchestrating the majority of the street violence around the city’s interface areas in recent months.

In a security assessment to the Policing Board, Alan McQuillan said: "The significant majority of that has come from loyalist paramilitary groups."
