Pilot dies in Co Kerry helicopter crash

The Department of Transport is to investigate a helicopter crash in Co Kerry last night in which the pilot died.

The aircraft crashed in thick fog on a hillside near Dingle while flying to pick up two people who had attended the races in nearby Tralee.

Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion before raising the alarm.
