FAI to consult with Government over sporting list

The FAI says it will continue consultations with the Government over the designation of sports events as free-to-air.

The association met with Communications Minister, Dermot Ahern, today to discuss his plans to make international soccer matches available only to terrestrial TV.

Afterwards FAI general secretary Brendan Menton said: "We had a good meeting with the Minister and his officials.

"We took the opportunity to put across the points made in our submission and we are happy to participate in the consultative process."
