Rainbow Warrior sails into Dublin

The environmental group Greenpeace has brought its Rainbow Warrior vessel to Dublin to highlight its opposition to a shipment of nuclear fuel which is on its way to Sellafield.

The shipment, which will pass through the Irish Sea, contains a batch of plutonium.

The cargo was sent back from Japan after British Nuclear Fuels’ admitted it falsified safety records.

Greenpeace said it believes the shipment contains radioactivity equivalent to 200 years of discharges from the Sellafield plant.
