The Government is reportedly planning to make a new offer to secondary school teachers in an effort to avoid disruption when the new term begins on Monday.

Reports this morning suggest that the Department of Education will agree to make the €37-an-hour offer for supervision and substitution duties pensionable in the hope that this will get the Association of Secondary Teachers to resume these duties.
