Ahern disappointed at snub to TV rights forum
Communications Minister Dermot Ahern has said he is disappointed that Ireland’s three main sporting bodies have refused to attend a public forum today on the EU’s ‘Television without Frontiers’ directive.
The FAI, the GAA and the IRFU have refused to attend the meeting in Dublin Castle, which is part of the consultation process before the Government designates culturally important events that must be broadcast free of charge on terrestrial television.
