British Post Office may handle Irish passport applications

The Irish Government has proposed a scheme whereby Irish citizens could apply for Irish passports through the British Post Office.

Under the plan, application forms for Irish passports would be available in all major towns and cities in Britain and the North.

The proposed scheme is currently the subject of discussions between An Post, the British Post Office and the Irish Passport Office.
