The Loyalist Volunteer Force has said it did not issue a threat against the life of Northern Ireland soccer captain Neil Lennon.

The Celtic midfielder pulled out of an international match last night after a caller to a Belfast newsroom, claiming to be from the paramilitary group, issued the warning.
