The British government was today accused of reneging on a commitment in the Good Friday Agreement to promote and develop the Irish language.

SDLP Assembly member Tommy Gallagher rounded on the government over its Communications Bill and demanded the entire population of Northern Ireland be given access to the Irish language television station, TG4.
