Celestica cuts 250 jobs in Dublin

The Celestica electronics company is to halve its 500-strong workforce in Ireland, it announced today.

The jobs are to go at the firm’s plant in Swords, Co Dublin.

Celestica, a world leader in electronics-manufacturing services, said the move was being made as part of a global restructuring programme, announced earlier this year.

They also said the 250 cuts would be made as part of a voluntary redundancy offer.

Celestica took over their Dublin premises two years ago from the Motorola telecommunications company, retaining some of the workers there.
