College offers down by 3%

Round one offers for third level courses will be delivered by post today and show the numbers receiving at least one offer of a place down to 72% from 75% last year and 80% in 2000.

College applications were up by around 2,000 to 65,600 applicants despite fewer students sitting the Leaving Cert.
