Roche: 'No to Nice' campaign scaremongering
Junior Minister, Dick Roche, is accusing the "No to Nice" campaign of scaremongering.
The Minister of State for European Affairs says there’s no basis for claims that a yes vote will lead to a flood of migrant workers here especially from Hungary.
He said that Ireland did not feature at all in a sample survey determining the European countries potential Hungarian migrants wanted to go.
"It suggests that the argument that we are going to be flooded with 800,000 or 75 million people from Eastern Europe is a false argument. It is without basis. It is without foundation and it is intended to create alarm," said Roche.
