Man’s body recovered from Co Leitrim canal

Gardai in Co Leitrim have recovered a man’s body from the canal at Ballinamore.

The 24-year-old local man is believed to have fallen into the disused waterway at around 2am today.

Gardai said the canal was flooded.

A post mortem will be carried out on the body later today, but foul play is not suspected.
