Gardai hope to interview Cork shooting victim today

Gardai in Cork hope to interview the victim of yesterday’s shooting in the city later today.

40-year-old Pat Dunne, a courier, was shot in the leg after a gang of armed raiders ambushed him on the Straight Road at around 6am yesterday.

The raiders were looking for cash and shot the victim after discovering that he was only delivering packages and letters.

Mr Dunne underwent 12 hours of surgery yesterday as doctors feared he could lose his leg.
