Call made to tackle racism against women

Immigrant representatives have called on the government to implement special measures for women in any action taken to combat racism.

The Network of African Women in Ireland said today that women suffer some of the worst discrimination experiences by non-nationals in Ireland.

Salome Mbugua of the Network of African Women said foreign women are abused on a daily basis and suffer from the experience in a different way from men.
