Pensioners die in house fire

Two pensioners have died in a house fire in Co Mayo.

The blaze broke out at their home on Chapel Road, Crossmolina, at around 9pm last night.

The husband and wife, both aged in their 80s, were found in the sitting room by firefighters.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known. Investigators will examine the scene later this morning.
