James Kavanagh, the retired auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, has died at the age of 88.

James Kavanagh, the retired auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, has died at the age of 88.

Bishop Kavanagh is believed to have been ill for some time and passed away in the early hours of this morning.

He is due to be buried on Monday after requiem mass at the Church of the Holy Child in Dublin.
