Down man beaten in paramilitary-style attack

A 29-year-old Co Down man was beaten in a paramilitary-style assault today.

Four masked men entered the victim's home in Killyleagh at 12.40am and beat him with hammers and batons.

A fifth man threatened him with a gun and ordered him to leave the area.

He was treated for his injuries at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, near east Belfast.
