IBEC seeks exemption from rise in electricity charges

The employer’s group IBEC has called for businesses to be exempt from the ESB’s planned 15% increase in electricity charges.

IBEC has presented a four-point plan to the Commission for Energy Regulation calling for consultation before increases are introduced, for any rises to be in line with inflation and for them to be introduced on a phased basis after January 2003.
