Bishop says public have been left down
A senior bishop has highlighted the extent to which people feel let down by events in international banking and commerce, as well as by the actions of the Church and governments.
Archbishop of Tuam Michael Neary was speaking ahead of today’s annual pilgrimage at Ireland’s Croagh Patrick, when thousands of Catholic faithful, many of them barefoot, were climbing the 2,500 Co Mayo peak for a service at the summit.
