The Positive Action group are seeking a tribunal of inquiry into why 28 donors of blood were not told for years why they had tested positive for Hepatitis C.

The support group works with woman who have been infected by the blood product anti-D, which had been contaminated.

Now, the Irish Blood Transfusion Service wants a judicial inquiry which would be more comprehensive and open.

Support groups for infected Hepatitis C victims insist however the IBTS would have no power to compel witnesses.
