A report into the foot-and-mouth outbreak in the North has found that farmers benefited by more than £6m (€9.4m) from the disease.

The review by PriceWaterhouseCoopers examined the costs associated with controlling the virus. It found that Northern farmers received £7.5m (€11.8m) compensation for animals culled.
