UUP slams court ruling on police recruits

The Ulster Unionist Party has condemned a court decision today which upheld the situation whereby recruits to the North’s police service must be 50-50 Catholic and Protestant.

The Ulster Unionist Party has condemned a court decision today which upheld the situation whereby recruits to the North’s police service must be 50-50 Catholic and Protestant.

Party spokesperson Sylvia Hermon said the ruling flies in the face of the Good Friday Agreement, which guarantees equality.
