Man shot in north Belfast

A Protestant man has been shot and injured in the Glenbryn Park area of Ardoyne in north Belfast.

The man’s condition was not yet known, however, police have confirmed he has been taken to hospital.

Mark Coulter, a community representative in the area close to Holy Cross school, which was subjected to a loyalist picket last year, claimed a nationalist gunman fired a shot across the peaceline.

A large number of people have now gathered at the top of Alliance Avenue on the Ardoyne Road.

A large security force presence was in the area, keeping crowds of nationalists and loyalists apart.
