ESB expected to raise prices

ESB customers are now facing a 15% price hike in the next two months.

The price increases for domestic and business customers is expected to add to inflationary pressures and increase industrial costs.

This rise in prices comes after the 9% increase that ESB announced last year.

It is expected that the increases will be announced by the Commissioner for Electricity Regulation Tom Reeves in September.

The company is claiming that the price rise is needed to fund a €2bn infrastructure programme.
