The FAI’s honorary treasurer, John Delaney, has defended the association’s decision to sell the exclusive rights to Ireland’s home internationals to Sky Sports.

Speaking at the FAI annual general meeting in Dublin, Mr Delaney said that to decline Sky’s €7.5m offer would have been irresponsible, considering the low level of RTE’s offer.
