Cowen and McDowell launch Nice white paper
The Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Justice have launched the White Paper on the Nice Treaty.
The Government claims that the support could be more than 75% of the electorate.
The paper is designed to show the changes that would be made to the EU by the Treaty of Nice.
It also takes into account the developments from the referendum last June, including the declarations on Irish neutrality agreed at the Seville summit.
A guideline on the paper will be distributed nationwide in September and the Referendum campaign has a budget of €3.5m to promote the campaign and encourage voter turnout.
