Chief-of-staff to address troops departing for Bosnia
The Defence Forces chief-of-staff, Colm Mangan, is due to address Irish soldiers departing for peacekeeping duties in Bosnia later this morning.
The military police contingent will depart on a six-month tour of duty around the city of Sarajevo, where they will observe and liase with the NATO-led stabilisation force.
Their main duty will be policing the multinational peacekeeping force in the Sarajevo region, which is around 5,000-strong.
They will also be helping local police with their duties.
