Six people recover after boating accident

Six people are recovering this morning, after their trawler sank on Lough Swilly yesterday evening.

The three men, two women and an eight-year-old boy, were travelling between Doonree and Portsalon Beach, when their vessel began taking water.

The garda water unit was called to the scene by one of the trawler occupants.

Three of the crew, including the boy, were airlifted to Letterkenny General Hospital, where their injuries are described as minor. The remaining victims were treated for shock overnight.
